That’s the message that Anna, a lifestyle and food blogger, has for her sizable following. She’s learned a lot during this pandemic, particularly about communities that are not only at heightened risk for contracting COVID-19, but also at a heightened risk of catching the virus while uninsured. She wants others to know what they can do to help.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted so many of us on various levels, whether professionally or personally, there’s no one that hasn’t been impacted by this public health crisis. One thing in particular that I’ve learned more about, is that African American and Latino communities have been hit hardest by this public health crisis. Many of these communities have a higher number of people who entered this crisis uninsured. As a nonprofit professional, part of my job has always been to advocate for people of color and to ensure that they get access to a variety of resources such as educational tools and medical support.

Today, I am asking each one of you to help me raise and spread awareness for available insurance options that can help people who are seeking coverage. I’m making this ask because everyone deserves access to resources that can better their lives and help them through this pandemic. I want to continue to be a resource and do my part in making sure that our vulnerable communities get the information they need, in order to get the medical support they deserve, right now.”
